A site within a site Print E-mail

Did you know that you can assign templates to different parts of your web site? You can create a totally different look for a special project, committee, or just for fun. You can apply the template to a page, a section, or a category, anything that you can add to a menu.

This is a great way to showcase something you are doing or a special event/activity you have planned without having to create an entirely new web site or organization.

To do this, go into the back-end administration utilty in your Mambo site (acessible from the "site administration" link in the user menu that appears when you login). Login there and then click on Menu Manager, then the name of the menu you want to add the link to this item to. Add a link to the menu for the new area. If you already have a menu item for the area you want to assign a template to, skip this step.

Then, click on the Site menu, then Template Manager -> Site Templates.

Click the radio button next to the template you want to use, then click on the Assign button at the upper right-hand side of the page. You will then see a list of possible menu items to assign that template to, pick the one want to assign it to, When you save this that section of your site will use the new template, while the rest of your site will stay with the default.

You can do this for multiple templates and menu item combinations to create the appearance of many different sites within your own single Mambo installation.
